Hand built earthenware.
Each piece is constructed individually by coiling, pinching and various modelling techniques. Scraping back the surplus clay for refinement of form results in a distinctive texture on which to draw and model. After bisque firing the pieces are coloured with oxides, underglaze washes and transparent glaze. Whilst essentially vessels, these pieces are also expressions of my response to my natural surroundings, its inherent fragility and its eternal renewal.
I exhibit worldwide and work to commission.
