Andrew Wicks

The focus and control needed to throw porcelain vessels is an exciting new
challenge for Andrew, who also uses slip-casting techniques. External
surfaces are treated with a water etching process that emphasises the
refined nature of the clay and satisfies the inquisitive hand. Subtly
textured surfaces evoke patterns found in the natural world, such as
fossils, coral reefs and magnified plant forms. Glazes appear liquid and
lucid and emphasise the surface details.

Andrew¹s work has been featured in many galleries and ceramic exhibitions in
this country and Europe.
