Sarah Dunstan

I established a studio in St. Ives, Cornwall in 1992 after graduating from Cardiff Institute of Higher Education, and I am now working in the Gaolyard Studios.
I decorate rolled out sheets of clay by using various techniques including painting and printing with coloured slips. The pieces are then put together using paper templates to create the final form. I am fascinated by collections of objects: from the very small and personal -scent bottles, the mundane - sardine tins, to large architectural forms such as Gaudi buildings.

Some pieces are purely ornamental while others tell a story.
