Andrea Walsh

Andrea studied fine art and then a masters degree in glass at Edinburgh College of Art in 2001. during this time she developed a fascination firstly with the display of artwork and ideas of installation, and then went on to explore specific materials, the combination of bone china and glass, within this context.
Making simple yet considered forms, Andrea’s work resembles very familiar vessel shapes. each piece is individually cast, achieving an extremely fine shell of clay. the forms develop unique characteristics throughout the firing process, some becoming vessels for glass which emulates liquid contained within the form.
