James and Tilla Waters

We make functional domestic pots as well as pieces which are intended to be purely expressive. Unifying factors tend to be strong, clean forms with restrained use of colour and decoration. We aim for economy of design and clarity of intention in our work. All of our work is made in collaboration with each other.
We both initially trained as painters, then met some years later whilst doing apprenticeships with the potter Rupert Spira.
