For the last 30 years I have been making vapour glaze pots, concentrating on producing functional high temperature soda glaze pots for the preparation, cooking and serving of food, in the broadest sense of the word. Raw glazing using slip and a pallet of firing schedules gives the work its rich colour and texture. In recent years I have developed a series of “Soda Shino” work, inspired by Mino pots of Japan. I use Shino type glazes fired in the Soda Kiln alongside the slipware functional pots.
