Tin glazed earthenware seems these days to be the poor relation of ceramics, yet it has a thousand year history. I feel that the materials still have masses to offer and can be used in ways that are fresh and contemporary.
I use a red body, because I love the way that it shows through the glaze and softens the colour. I decorate with slip trailing and with cobalt oxide which has an enduring partnership with tin glaze. The work is made to be used and loved.
