Suleyman Saba

Suleyman Saba graduated from the Camberwell College of Arts in 1991; later serving an apprenticeship with Kevin Millward at the Gladstone Museum in 1993, before establishing a London-based workshop in 1997.
Influences stem from the ceramic and lacquer traditions of China and Japan. A range of hand-thrown bowls, vases and tableware is produced in two stoneware clays, with combinations of celadon and iron-saturated glazes fired in oxidation to 1260C.
Work is represented in the collections of the Ashmolean Museum, the York Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
