Jeremy Nichols

I make saltglazed pots, specialising in teapots and pourers of various kinds, which are intended to be both visually interesting and pleasurable to handle and use. I trained originally as an aeronautical engineer and this is a major influence on my methods of making and on the sense of physical and visual balance that I aim to achieve in my designs. I throw the bodies and lids and slipcast the handles and spouts. The pots are assembled from these components and sprayed with glazes and stains to obtain variations in surface colour and texture from the salt firing.
