Tina Vlassopulos

Vlassopulos’ work looks deceptively simple, belying the fact that she often
pushes clay to its limits. Her graceful and enigmatic vessels seem to arc and
bend effortlessly, instilling a sense of movement and precise balance.
Although the work seems to draw ideas from nature, it is the performing arts,
which inspire her.
The pots are all made with an eye to the possibility of function, but this is
balanced by a sculptural context to the forms and the concept of container
carries only an aesthetic & symbolic value.
They are pots made contemplatively, for reflection, with the abstract and
organic combining forces.
